As a kid growing up in rural Kansas, I always had an assortment of livestock and pets, all much to my mother's dismay. I started working in a local veterinary practice when I was 17 and have worked in one ever since. After graduating from Kansas State University in 1984, I followed my husband, Dr. Jon Carlson, to Texas and was very fortunate to be able to come to work in Tyler with Dr. Arnold and Dr. Maris in February of 1986, where I have stayed and been able to develop my special interest in feline medicine.

When I am not working, I enjoy my horses, my French bulldogs, and my old cat, going to movies and watching K-State football and Cardinals baseball.

I grew up in a small town in central Kansas. I have always enjoyed outdoor activities including athletic sports, fishing, and hunting. After graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University, I moved to Texas and started working in a busy mixed animal practice in Quitman.

My wife, Kathy Carlson, started working here at Shelley Drive in the spring of 1986 and I joined her here in the summer of 1989. I enjoy working here at Shelley Drive. We work hard to offer the best veterinary medicine has for our patients. We are also blessed to have great clients who want the best for their four-legged family members.

I was born in Virginia but moved to Texas as quick as I could by the age of one. I have lived in Tyler ever since then except for the 7 years I spent in College Station. I attended Whitehouse High School and I graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University in May of 2008.

My veterinary career started at Flint Veterinary Clinic as a technician for 4 years and as a doctor for 3 years. I came to Shelley Drive Animal Clinic in March 2011. When not in the clinic, I enjoy watching and playing sports including football, basketball, volleyball, golf, and frisbee. I also enjoy building and working with computers, photography, and spending time with family and friends. I met my beautiful wife in church in 2018 and we have a Golden Retriever and a new Goldendoodle puppy!

Howdy!  :)  My name is Noor, and I am very excited to join the amazing team at Shelley Drive Animal Clinic.  Growing up, I always imagined becoming a veterinarian one day.  I completed my bachelors degree at Texas A&M University - Commerce in Biological Sciences with a minor in Animal Science.  I attended Texas A&M University - College of Veterinary Medicine to complete my veterinary training and graduated in May of 2022.  I am very happy to be back in East Texas with my mom, my brother, our 11 spoiled, precious dogs and 5 snobby cats!  Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my animals and listening to podcasts and audiobooks.  In practice, my areas of interest include preventative medicine, diagnostic imaging, and surgery. I look forward to meeting and working with all the wonderful patients and clients at Shelley Drive!

I am 25 years old and have always loved animals and dreamed about working in a veterinary clinic. When my father passed away in 2011 that determination to work in this field became even stronger.  In 2015, I started to get my certification for Veterinary Assistant through Animal Behavior College and that is how I met the Shelley Drive team!  I graduated in 2016 and started looking for a job in the veterinary field and was hired part-time.  That summer, I was offered a full time job and I took the opportunity.  By the end of 2016, I finished my Associates in Business/Management and have now dedicated my time to Shelley Drive!

In my free time I love to read and write, spend time with my family and play with my German Shepherd, Kuma!

I have always been passionate about animals and was ecstatic when I was able to start working as a Veterinary Assistant in 2008.  I absolutely love building relationships with clients and the pets they call family.  I look forward to the opportunity to continue building on my experience and knowledge of Veterinary Medicine at Shelley Drive Animal Clinic.  My hobbies include fishing, being outdoors and spending time with friends and family.

    Receptionist

Hello!  My name is Parker.  I currently work as a veterinary receptionist, but the goal has always been to become a veterinarian.  After serving in the U.S. Army for 3 years as a mortician, I decided it was time to move back to my home state, Texas, and begin my schooling.  I am currently enrolled in TJC with my fingers crossed that Texas A&M will accept me once my prerequisites are completed.  My hobbies include reading, spending time outside with our 3 dogs, and obedience training.
